YARD SIGN GUIDELINES, RULES & RESTRICTIONS

If you would like a yard sign, please stop by campaign headquarters during office hours, contact us to let us know you'd like one, or complete the volunteer form!

Once you have your yard sign, be sure to follow the guidelines:

YARD SIGN RESTRICTIONS

  • BLOOMINGTON
    (The official campaign Registrations, required by city code before election signs are posted, has been filed with the city Administrator)

    • Limited to one sign per building or building lot (i.e. if signs for more than one candidate or issue are posted, all but one will be removed by city Administrator)

    • Must be on private property and must have owner's consent to be posted

    • Must not be on City right-of-way and must not be affixed to: benches; phone booths; bus stop signs/structures; fire hydrants; traffic signs or devices; street signs; utility poles; etc.

    • Must not obstruct traffic visibility

    • Maximum sign size/height-residential: 6 square ft; 3 ft high

    • Maximum sign size/height - commercial: 16 square ft; 6 ft high

    • Must be removed by Saturday, February 9, 2008


  • NORMAL

    • Must be on private property

    • Must not be on Town right-of-way

    • Must not obstruct traffic visibility

    • Must be removed by Tuesday, February 12, 2008


  • COUNTY & OUTLYING TOWNS

    • Must not obstruct traffic visibility

    • Must not be affixed to Village, County or State signs

    • Must be removed by Friday, February 15, 2008
