This website was created by the Citizens for Unit 5, a group of individuals from throughout the community, in an effort to educate residents about two referendum questions that will be on the February 5, 2008 General Election Primary ballot.

Unit 5 District Profile

McLean County Unit District No. 5:

  • Has a student enrollment of 12,460 students

  • Maintains and operates 20 schools in addition to Special Services, Resource Center, Warehouse, Transportation, and Unit Offices

  • Serves students from Normal, Carlock, Hudson, Towanda, parts of Bloomington, and rural areas surrounding each of these communities

  • With approximately 1785 full-time equivalent employees, is the 5th largest employer in McLean County

  • Is committed to educating each student to achieve personal excellence
